Auf der Walz - Drei Jahre und ein Tag is a Constantin Television production commissioned by ARD Degeto for ARD.

Maria's (Ronja Rath) future path is already set: she will take over her father carpentry business, then start a family with her long-term boyfriend Steffen (Silas Breiding). This is what Maria wants, at least she thinks so. Everything changes once Cem (Sohel Altan Gol) shows up, one of those laid-back journeymen with no yesterday and no tomorrow – absolute freedom! She spontaneously decides to set off with Cem to journey for three years and one day, no obligations but also no home and family. On her travels, she learns not only about the traditions of her profession, she also discovers her own limits and unexpected strengths.

One question becomes increasingly urgent: where does Maria really want to end up?
